I love the breakdown in areas. The colors are wonderful! Also, they are printed on super durable paper. They really hold up. The gloss gives them all a high shine. They just feel like awesome little treasure maps. I love being able to see the little areas, nooks and crannies. It just really gives so much life to the areas. I am reading the West Verd now and being able to pull out these maps to dig even deeper into these areas is fantastic. I can't way to use this in game with my folks.

I ask everything from geographical, historical and about the people. If you have a player like me that loves to discover the lore of the land of the game they are in. Then this is the book for you. So when I decided to run the game myself I had to get the encyclopedias myself. And wow they are amazing.

These Gooey peeps have done well to create an amazing world with much diversity from its people to its landscapes. When it comes to lore you can find no other game that does a better job of it.

Comment on The Darkest Dream – Chapter One of the Red Star Rising Campaign by Khorgan https://gooeycube.com/?p=265/#comment-70901 Thu, 07 Apr 2022 21:42:52 +0000 https://gooeycube.com/?post_type=product&p=265#comment-70901 So I decided to run a D&D game with some co-workers. A friend of mine is running us through this campaign online. Was always fascinated with the artwork in the game. And when I saw that you got it all as handouts, I was like game over man! They already do an amazing job at covering ever needs for every type of player (assuming the GM can roleplay half bad) and then you get all the handouts. I purchased all of it, literally.

They remind me of a blend of the tourists maps of cities with the memorable places drawn large mixed with amusement park type maps. It's a great combination and I find myself just starring at the maps. I have both the west and east version. The encyclopedias come with some maps. But these take a much closer look at the land. Many many more towns and places of note are on these versions. If you are using the world of Zyathe to run a campaign in Verdestia, you want these.

Our game ran for a grand total of 16 hours and it was a blast!

Comment on A Strangely Gooey Holiday by David Stormer https://gooeycube.com/?p=55626/#comment-70004 Sat, 01 Jan 2022 18:05:14 +0000 https://gooeycube.com/?post_type=product&p=55626#comment-70004 This adventure is a great example Gooey Cube Product. The GM has two books to help run this side quest, the adventure book, and the GM Reference. The adventure book is well written and a very enjoyable read. The GM reference has the stats for each encounter with adjustments for the party that are very easy to use on the fly while running the side quest. The GM reference also has loads of tables for what is found in the basement to give even more flavor for the players. You will also have Handouts to help show the players what they are seeing or encountering, Item cards of what the players find, portraits of some of the NPCs encountered. And last but not least 2 sets of maps one for the GM and one for the players.

My experience running this adventure was very fun to run with plenty of opportunities for some joking and silliness. The extra information in the GM reference gave plenty of ideas to customize the adventure for my group. I look forward to running more Gooey Cube adventures for my players.

Use it for in game gambling, for waiting for late players to arrive, for divination.
